What’s wordcloud?
Do you ever find yourself thinking of the best ideas in the shower? Or waking up and writing down your most recent dream? As a writer and absolutely curious person, this happens to me A LOT. This is the wordcloud; the space between reality and ideas where information and inspiration meet. I’m here to share this space with you every week with first-person essays, journalistic pieces, poetry and the occasional podcast. Subscribe for free to get the newsletter and website. Join me in the wordcloud.
Who am I? Why am I doing this?
I’m Nicole. I have little authority but a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to life, and I’ve made it my mission to learn what I don’t and write what I feel.
In 2020, I found myself a mid-20-something-year-old who moved back home with her parents due to a global pandemic. One day this will be a sitcom. But, desperate times call for desperate measures. So I challenged myself for one whole month to write down one idea every day - it didn’t need to something big, just a thought. One month turned into weeks and then BAM! my wordcloud was right on the pages in front of me like a great cosmic mess shaking me awake.
I’m now wide-eyed and starry-eyed and excited to soar. Writing brings me joy, and I do it to share that joy with you all.
My promises
I promise to bring a few things to each wordcloud:
My un-expert ideas + experts’ ideas
I love to think about what I don’t know, but I will not write on behalf of an experience I haven’t lived. I promise to lean on experts and people who know what I don’t.
Something for you to do
We’re all hanging in a space of ideas - let’s do something with them. Each newsletter will include either a prompt or action for you take with your own wordcloud.
